Recertification for diplomates

In compliance with II.A.13 of the Policies and Procedures of the European Board of Veterinary Specialization (EBVS), the European College of Bovine Health Management establishes the following system for periodic re-evaluation of practicing Diplomates.

Every five years, practicing Diplomates must provide evidence for their involvement both in the field of bovine health management and in the activities of the College during the preceding five years.

They have to accumulate a minimum total of 100 credit points in various categories, as detailed below. No credit points can be granted for education or training in non-scientific or non-evidence-based medicine.

A submission check list is provided below and is intended to help re-evaluating practicing ECBHM Diolomates with the submission of their Re-eveluation Credentials

It is encouraged to submit this checklist together with the Re-Evaluation Credentials.

The responsibility for accuracy and availability of all required re-evaluation criteria rests with the practicing Diplomate..

 

The following Categories can give credits for recertification

  • Attendance and organization of congresses in the field of bovine health management
  • Publications in the field of bovine health management 
  • Questions accepted by Exam Committee
  • Presentations at national or international buiatrics congresses
  • Contributions to continuing professional development for practitioners
  • Training of residents and other students
  • Serving on committees
  • Relevant contribution to position papers by request of the Board

ECBHM Diplomates are required to undertake re-evaluation at intervalls of 5 years.

Deadline for submission of the re-certification credentials is November 1st. of the year of the recertification.

The system for periodic re-evaluation of practising Diplomates is explained in the updated ECBHM Policies and Procedures.
