About the President
Arcangelo Gentile was born in Bologna (Italy) the 2nd September 1961. He
graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Currently he is Associate Professor of
Veterinary Clinical Investigation at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in
Bologna. He attends regularly the Clinic for Ruminants in Munich (Germany), with
which he collaborates in the study of the metabolism of D-lactate in calves and
of ruminal acidosis of lactating cows. His main topics of interest are:
management and pathology of veal calves, digestive diseases of calves and
genetic diseases of cattle. He is also involved in a solidarity project in
Tanzania.
President's remit
The Vice-President shall be the President-Elect, shall be an ex-officio
member of all committees and perform the duties of the President in his/her
absence or inability to serve. He/she shall be the Programme Chairperson for
the Annual Symposium of the College.
