About Raphael Guatteo
Raphaël Guatteo is graduated from the College of Veterinary Science, Food Science and Engineering of Nantes,
France in 2000. After two years in rural practice, he worked as assistant lecturer at the department of
Farm animal health and public health and also defended his Msc and PhD during that time on the epidemiology
of Q fever in dairy cattle.
In 2009, he sits the examination of the ECBHM in Munich via “the almost de facto process”
and joins the examination committee just after the examination.
Currently, he is Lecturer in the department of Farm Animal Health at the College of Veterinary Science,
Food Science and Engineering of Nantes, especially within the clinic for ruminants (individual and population cattle medicine).
His research topic deals with the assessment of the effectiveness of control schemes towards different infectious diseases
(Q fever, Johne’s disease and Digital Dermatitis) and pain management in cattle.
