Short curriculum
Professor Barrett graduated from the University of Bristol in 1990, after 3-years in farm practice he undertook a residency at the University of Glasgow, gaining Diplomas in Bovine Reproduction and Cattle Health and Production. He worked as a lecturer / senior lecturer at Glasgow before returning to Bristol as Professor of Bovine Medicine, Production and Reproduction in 2011. He became a diplomate of the ECBHM in 2003 and was President between 2005-07; he also served on all the ECBHM Committees and represented the ECBHM at the EBVS from its inception until full recognition in 2010. As well as wide clinical and research interests in Bovine Health Management he also has a particular interest in veterinary education, and is a council member of the BCVA and a former editor of Cattle Practice.
